Private Tuning Hands v3.0

racing slow since '03

Feb. 17, 2006 - A long hiatus

Its been a long while since I have added something here. After graduation (whew, finally!) I have been searching for jobs in and out of the state. I'm still currently lookong for one. All the while, my car is just sitting in the garage, unused. Her insurance had been expired so I cannot drive her. DirftBattle finally released their '07 season schedule and the first event will be on Mar. 11. A sign of freash breath for norcal drift scene. I signed up for the event. I have taken care of the immidiate stuff, insurance and registration is finally up to date. I still have a set of used tirea that are still good. (I hope) I'm pretty excited about this becasue this is the first time I will truly test out my suspension changes. I did drove them at the last autocross that I went but that was very quick. I'm also excited to use my newest camera, a Canon digital rebel Xti.

Jun. 18, 2006 - SCCA autocross @ Monster Park

Wow, its been a while since I logged an entry here at my diary. I haven't been focusing on driving these past few months because I was busy in school doing out senior project design. Anyways, you guys are looking at a new college graduate! Yay for aerospace engineering and hope to find a new job soon. This is the first time I drove my car since I installed the new suspension upgrades. Kuya Mark is co-driving my car. I like when he drives my car, it gives him inspiration to keep his corolla project alive. As always, I do not have grippy tires for this event. I only had the best falken zeix that I could find in my tire bin. I wasn't really into fast lap times. Rather, I would like to feel the new suspension driftwise. Off the gate, I could immediately feel the difference in the front grip. With more negative camber, stiffer springs, and a tension rod brace, the front turns in more quickly and aggressively. Aggressive enough that the zeix could not keep up. In some of the corners, I understeered. Alas, I tried to drift the course and had some success. From this autocrossing outing, I think I still need to tune the swaybar settings. Right now, the front is at softest and the rear is at 2/4 stiff. Maybe if I could turn up one notch on the rear, it would be of my liking ~ driftwise.
